This is something that we pride ourselves on. We understand how to remove an ice dam safely and efficiently with the use of steam. Sure any handyman, roofer, or sister-inlaw can claim to provide this service with the right equipment. Some even claim to provide the service without the right equipment (hammers, chisels, pressure washers, etc…). However, when it comes to the integrity of your property and safety on your roof. Roofers, roofing companies, and their revolving door of employees are generally not all that experienced with working on an icy roof. They usually are working in the summer and slow in the winter. They may have years, even generations of experience and knowledge on how to navigate a roof. However, there is a big difference when you are dealing with a roof that is covered in ice. These companies generally are only working on ice dams when ice dams occur on their home turf or in the state where they most often operate. Due to the vast amount of knowledge that is required to understand how and when ice dams can form. These roofing companies and handymen generally are out of practice and operating using hot pressure washers and or the hammer method to remove ice.
