When it comes to removing ice dams, no two roof ice projects are alike. This requires us to charge by the hour. We almost always send out a two man crew to your ice dam removal project to help ensure your ice dam removal project is completed as soon as possible. Our ice dam removal technician will arrive at your home bright and early. Once they introduce themselves the next step is figuring out where we can get water by garden hose fitting (usually a laundry tub, laundry machine supply or outdoor faucet.) Once we are ready to unload our equipment, our billing will begin. We bill by 1 minute increments. We do not round up or down to get to the closest hour. Billing stops when our ice dam technicians have put away all of our equipment and your ice dams have been safely removed. If you want extra services (snow removal, etc..) beyond that we will continue billing at our hourly rate.
Having your ice dams removed will vary depending on how tall and long your ice dams are. For example, an ice dam that is 20 feet long may only travel up your roof 2 ft. However, sometimes we encounter ice dams that may travel up the roof 12ft or more. The ice dam in the second example will take more time to remove.
We are a small family-run business that only considers allowing the best-trained technicians to operate our equipment. Equipment that is built for the sole purpose of removing ice safely and efficiently from our customer’s homes and buildings. With highly trained technicians and properly maintained equipment, your ice dams will be removed skillfully & as efficiently as possible when hiring Ice Dams Removed.

Before our ice dam removal crew comes to your home there are a few things you could do to get ready.
- We need cold water. Whether it be from a garden hose connection, a laundry machine hook-up, a laundry tub, or a water softener. We use our own hoses, so just make sure it’s available.
- You can remove any snow in advance of our arrival. This takes us time and can possibly save you money in the end.
- Be ready for us. Make sure there is plenty of room in the driveway, street, parking lot, or alleyway for us to park and set up our steaming equipment.
- We need you to show or tell us where you want the ice removed from your roof.
We make every attempt at shaving off time and being as efficient as possible to save our ice dam removal customers money. Follow these few steps above and you will be on the right track.
No, we can remove the ice and snow from roofs and gutters without you being home. It is nice to have somebody available whether it be a neighbor, friend or family member in case we need to speak with somebody in person but it is not absolutely necessary.
We do not recommend DIY ice dam removal. There are several methods to remove an ice dam but there is only one method that will not damage your roof or risk personal injury. Ice dam removal is dangerous work and damaging if done improperly. It is best left to the experts at Ice Dams Removed. We have the right equipment and proper training to perform safe ice dam removal.
We have been on more roofs than we can count that have severe damage from improper ice dam removal methods. It is best to leave this job to the experts at Ice Dams Removed. After all the cost of ice dam removal is cheaper than a new roof or a broken leg.
